STOPPING Your Dog FROM BARKING
If your Chihuahua is barking or howling
when ignored, then it is most probably because it suffers
from separation anxiety.
Separation anxiety usually initiates
with fear and insecurities.
Training the Chihuahua to do some tricks
will help it gain self-esteem. ....
If your Dog is yapping at the neighbors
through the fence and annoying them, then behavior modification
is THE key. You can teach your Chi a reverse command to
stop the barking, or utilize anti-bark collars as a deterrent.
To teach your Chi a reverse command,
it must first know the command "SPEAK". The SPEAK command
is used to teach the Chihuahua to bark, but only when
you tell it to (i.e. bark on demand)...... |

Today, I will discuss a very common but
extremely irritating habit of Chihuahuas EATING POOP.
I receive many emails on this particular
problem and the two most common cases are:
CASE I: My puppy is completely housetrained,
but when he goes out and poops, he then eats his own poop.
CASE II: My dog is great, but when I
walk him he wants to stop and investigate all other dogs'
poop and taste it.
If your Dog has this annoying habit,
I am sure you are just desperate to take control him.
The problem of a Chihuahua eating his
own poop or eating someone else's poop are actually closely
related. Dog experts and vets call this "Coprophagia".
But, did you know, that Coprophagia is
a behavior that is "normal" among dogs and their relatives
in the wild?...... |
